We were looking to move a 110-year-old house from Ashburton up into the hills in Waimate and this wasn’t your standard house move – it was really big, well oversize at the maximum width, and 1400mm over the legal height limit. It required special permits and was just not your standard simply 'pick it up and move it' kind of project. That’s why I knew I needed to find a really good house mover.

As a builder, I’ve known Mark for a number of years, we’ve used him in the past when he worked at Fulton Hogan and they moved buildings. With a quick Google search, I managed to find him and gave him a call. When it comes to moving a house, I’d only go with someone I know and trust. I’ll use Mark time and again as he’s just so easy to deal with, nothing is a problem, and for any issues, we just sit down, talk about it and come up with solutions.

The new homeowners are happily living in their relocated home and by moving a house from Ashburton we’ve met their budget. In all honesty, I wouldn’t recommend anyone else for moving a house. I would not go past McNeilly Heavy Haulage. He’s the best in the South Island and I wouldn’t use anyone else to move such a big asset.
